'Cultivate' - Essential Growth for Photography Graduates
Street Level are offering 2 small bursaries to cover travel and registration cost of attending the Cultivate one day seminar event for graduates and emerging freelancers. Aiming to nurture talent, inspire growth, and create opportunities for future image endeavours, the event will be lead by leading artists and specialists in photography. Topics will include current market matters, sharing image world knowledge, and becoming visible. Learn how to develop a portfolio, explore the mysteries of digital output, and get the edge on making your mark in the gallery world. Cultivate is organised by the development agency Rhubarb, who have teamed up with the London College of Communications. The seminar day takes place on Saturday 28th February 2009 in London. See Rhubarb website

Who can apply?
Interested recent graduates or emerging freelancers.

What do I submit?
Send 6 images of your work (screen resolution jpegs - approx 300k max per image) and a brief biography. Also include a statement on your work (not exceeding 100 words) and how you would like to see your practice develop (not exceeding 100 words).

SOURCE Photographic Magazine Publication Opportunity
SOURCE photographic magazine has established itself as one of the most innovative publishers of contemporary photography. As part of its commitment to finding new work it regularly organises days at venues across the UK and Ireland to meet directly with those working with photography.

To this end Source will be scheduling a series of meetings with photographers on Saturday 14th March 2009 at Street Level to view new work for consideration for publication. Eight Meetings will be arranged with photographers after a selection from work emailed in advance.

If interested, please email John Duncan by Friday 27th February 2009 with up to 6 screen resolution jpegs - approx 300k max per image - and a two paragraph description of your work. Alternatively you can email a link to a specific project on your web site.

Please note, work must be emailed in advance, and Street Level should be specified as the venue in your email subject heading.

SOURCE normally publishes work in the form of an 8-page portfolio. Although Source embraces variety, please familiarise yourself with the magazine before sending material. Unfortunately there is no fee for publication. The magazine is on sale through Borders and all good book shops. Source also accepts direct submissions on an ongoing basis. Street Level Photoworks was founded in 1989. From its inception it has provided artists and the public with the opportunity to produce and participate in photography and lens-based media. It aims to make artistic production accessible, both physically and intellectually, to a wide audience.
