ten til ten - Carla Scott Fullerton: Cut Line

15 August - 5 September 2009, Thu-Sat 12 - 5pm

Carla Scott Fullerton's practice is shaped by an interest in architecture: its history, materials and function. Her sensitivity to materials and awareness of the status and economy attached to their use forms the nucleus of a process of instinctive exploration composed of drawing and sculpture, each separate yet one often informing the other.

For this exhibition Scott Fullerton has extended this relationship in new works which explore the drawn line / form within sculpture. Using materials often associated with the underlying structure of building, or with temporary surfaces, she has created different textural and linear configurations, cutting into the surface of plywood and sterling panels to reveal their underlying textures. The collaged graph paper recalls the initial planning and placing of shape and line, and, through its repetitive patterning, frames the physical process present in the making of the work.

Location: 16 Eastvale Place, Glasgow
