Tonight at the National Gallery - the Nightingale String Quartet from 6.30pm


The second in a series of three concerts responding to the Van Gogh to Kandinsky: Symbolist Landscape in Europe 1880-1910 exhibition. The concert series, supported by the Danish Cultural Institute, feature leading musicians from Denmark who respond musicially to the exhibition.

Nightingale String Quartet


Nightingale String Quartet was founded in 2007 by violinists Gunvor Sihm, Josefine Dalsgaard, violist Marie Louise Broholt Jensen, and cellist Louisa Schwab. They were awarded the Danish Radio P2 talent prize in 2010. The programme includes Rued Langgaard'sVariations for String Quartet, "Mig Hjertelig nu Laenges" (O sacred head! Now wounded), String Quartet No 3 and Beethoven's String Quartet No. 8<> in E minor, Op. 59, No. 2.
