In this seminar Miranda Anderson will present contemporary research from
anthropology, archaeology, art history, history, literature, philosophy and robotics in order to explore the cultural history of the mirror as an object and as a motif used in verbal and visual imagery, as well as related notions of reflexivity and doubling.

Miranda Anderson is a literary scholar, whose research focuses on examining paradigms of the mind and the self across disciplinary and historical spans.

She completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh, was a JSPS Fellow at the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory, Osaka University, and is also the editor of The Book of The Mirror.
