Saturday 3 November, 3-5pm New Writing in Scotland: Panel Discussion
Chaired by Glasgow based writer and critic Moira Jeffrey this event is aimed at encouraging new models of supporting writing around the visual arts in Scotland.
Invited speakers; Liz Lochhead(poet, playwright and Writer-in-Residence at Glasgow School of Art), Dr Neil Mulholland(writer, curator and tutor at Edinburgh College of Art), Rosamund West(Skinny Magazine/ past NWSP writing participant) and Russell Ferguson(Analogue/ Running Amok) will cover a range of issues including; Collective's New Writing Scotland Project, creative writing, critical dialogue and artists' publishing.
| The panel discussion is a new aspect of the New Writing Scotland Project, this year's newspaper is out now and contains commissioned texts by Pedro Faria, Stephen Goodall and Rose Ruane.
The New Writing Scotland Project is based on an open policy of submissions with eligibility restricted to final year students and recent graduates based in Scotland. The New Writing Scotland Project has grown out of the Collective's New Work Scotland Programme and was initiated in collaboration with Edinburgh College of Art's Centre for Visual & Cultural Studies. The project aims to support creative writing about the visual arts coupled with targeted support to the exhibiting New Work Scotland Programme artists. Priority is given to new, less established writers who have never been published. Next deadline for submissions: May 2008
