The Nina Stewart Artist Residency is an open submission 6-month residency opportunity available to artists graduating in 2012 with a postgraduate MA or MFA from a UK institution.
Between October 2012 and March 2013, the resident will receive the following:
* Rent-free accommodation in the South London Gallery's Outset Artists' Flat.
* A rent-free studio in SPACE's studio complex on Haymerle Road, SE15.
* A bursary of £5,000 towards living expenses and production costs.
* Monthly mentoring sessions with invited artists, curators and writers, as well as the Director and staff of the South London Gallery.
* An opportunity to exhibit in the SLG's first floor galleries.
The residency enables the production of a new body of work and a rare opportunity for a recent graduate to exhibit within an internationally renowned institution.
CRITERIA
To be eligible for the residency applicants must:
* Graduate in 2012 with a postgraduate MA or MFA in an arts discipline from a UK institution.
* Be a UK resident or hold a valid work visa with right to stay in the UK during the stated period of residency.

Lying and Liars is a new installation created specifically for Collective's space by Glasgow-based artist Mick Peter. The exhibition title is derived from British novelist B.S. Johnson's idea that narrative fiction is a form of 'lying' and the show explores the conflict between storytelling and formal experimentation by mixing different sculptural and architectural idioms. As well as showing Johnson's short film Paradigm in the project space there will also be a screening event, Lying and Liars on Film at the Filmhouse, Edinburgh on Friday 3 August. A range of Johnson's short films will be seen alongside films by experimental filmmakers and artists, which mix reflexive and experimental forms as ways of investigating the inadequacies of language.
This festival exhibition may be Collective's last in its present home. The gallery is moving from its long-term home on Cockburn Street to the City Observatory on Calton Hill. Collective has a role of developing new talent in the visual arts in Scotland and internationally; Mick Peter exemplifies this process. Collective both nurtures and challenges artists at pivotal stages in their career, Mick was first selected for New Work Scotland Programme in 2000, its inaugural year. Since that time Mick has gone on to exhibit internationally, and was included in the British Art Show 7 in 2010. Collective has taken this opportunity to present Mick's work to an international audience during Edinburgh Art Festival 2012 as a chance to reflect upon the organisation's activities over the last 12 years as it prepares for further developments.

The Project Manager plays a central role in the Deveron Arts' team, occupying a versatile position that covers all aspects of supporting the programming and running of Deveron Arts' / The Town is The Venue. The post holder manages all aspects of Deveron Arts' projects from day to day book-keeping and running the office to grant reporting and looking after the artists and their projects. He/she works closely with the Director, to ensure the smooth running of the organisation's residencies and projects and advancing the organisation's vision.
