Inverleith House: Gallery Talk
Hayley Tompkins in conversation with Darren Rhymes
Saturday 14 March, 2-3pm, Inverleith House
A Gallery talk with artist Hayley Tompkins whose exhibition ‘Autobuilding’ is currently on show at Inverleith House – and Darren Rhymes, an artist to whom writing is an integral part of his practice (his feature on Sue Tompkins is published in the current issue of Map Magazine). ‘Autobuilding’ consists of 26 works made in the last two years, and comprises Tompkins’ distinctive ‘Objects’, drawings and a film (Interstice, 2008); installed by the artist in her first solo museum exhibition in Scotland. Darren and Hayley will discuss the works on display and how they relate to Tompkins’ interests and concerns as an artist.
Please enter via the North Gate entrance on Inverleith Place (or the East Gate entrance on Inverleith Row) as the West gate is still closed for construction work.
Admission free; booking advised but not essential. Please contact Inverleith House by telephone on 0131 248 2971 or by e-mail inverleithhouse@rbge.org.uk
