An Introduction to cinéconcerts
Tue 21 June 5:00 pm
Cinéconcerts have become a cultural phenomenon in France, and particularly in the renowned city of Rennes. This simple premise - for which musicians re-edit films and write their own scores to be played live in-front of the film - has yielded an enormous diversity of results, from the thrilling to the humorous. As part of this week of cinéconcerts presentations, master musicians from Rennes discuss the origins and opportunities of this new form of practice.
Admission: £5 / £3Beyond cinéconcerts
Thu 23 June 5:00 pm
This second talk is an open and informative discussion with some of the expert practitioners from Rennes about the question where next? for cinema and music re-interpretation. Scottish artists working in this field, or interested in this field, are particularly welcomed to join the discussion.
Admission: £5 / £3
