Spike Island Artists' Book & Zine Fair

Following the success of last year's Artists' Book & Zine Fair at Spike Island we're doing it again! The date this time is Hallowe'en, Saturday 31st October 2009. The fair will take place in Gallery Two at Spike Island and will be open from 1 - 6pm, with the intention being to continue with music in the Spike Café until 9pm.

I'm currently inviting artists/illustrators/collectives to come down and have a stall at the fair; I hope you'll be able to take part. There is no charge for a table at the Spike Island Artists' Book & Zine Fair, and no entry charge for the public. A light buffet lunch will be provided for all stall-holders.

The attitude of the fair at Spike Island is to bring together different approaches to a multiple such as a book or zine and, to consider how and where they sit in relation to an art practice. As such we'll have a central space within Gallery 2 that will be used for readings, demonstrations, discussions, etc and are keen for stall-holders to take part in this element of the day, so please let me know if you'd like to do something.

Let me know your thoughts and if you have any questions. You can visit the Spike Island website for more information about what goes on here, wwwspikeisland.org.uk, the autumn exhibition in Gallery One will be Sonia Boyce Like Love - a print based show of new work.

I look forward to hearing from you.
