New exhibitions, films, talks and workshops this weekend

Join us on Sat 21 May for the opening of our two summer exhibitions; Cara Tolmie: Read Thou Art and Read Thou Shalt Remain and Nina Rhode: Friendly Fire. Experience new and recent works by these exciting young artists, through optics and storytelling.

 

Open from 11:00 on Sat 21, with a preview event from 18:00. Exhibitions continue until Sun 31 July.

Cara Tolmie

Find out more about Nina Rhode and Cara Tolmie's work at Artists In Conversation on Sat 21 May at 14:00. Join the artists and Graham Domke, Curator at DCA, for a discussion about their processes and pieces on show. This event is free, but please book in advance.

 

Selected by Cara Tolmie, Céline and Julie Go Boating is the first of two Gallery Screenings for this exhibition, showing in the Cinema on Sun 22 May at 15:15.

Celebrating a weekend of culture and creativity in Dundee
 

This weekend is the perfect time to get out and show some love for the wealth of culture that Dundee has to offer. As well as exciting events here at DCA, there are talks, tours and exhibition previews taking place around the city.

 

Friday night sees the preview of Duncan of Jordanstone's degree show, showcasing the very best from a new wave of artists. Other exhibitions include They Had Four Years at artist-run gallery GENERATORprojects, a showcase of Scottish painting in Consider the Lilies at The McManus and cabin:codex, the relauch of the Centre for Artists' Books at the University of Dundee's Visual Research Centre, located at DCA.
